Tackling Trigonometry
Our Year 10 Vanguard students are taking on advanced trigonometry, mastering the graphing of trig functions as part of their preparation for year 11. The topic is scaffolded to boost their confidence, and it’s clear they’re thriving—eagerly sharing their understanding with peers throughout the class.
From Ambition to Achievement
With advanced learning techniques and peer collaboration, we are shaping tomorrow’s mathematical thinkers today!
The Year 10 Prosper and Pioneer classes have been excelling in their timed statistics tests, building confidence for their upcoming exams. With extra scaffolding for those needing support, students are surpassing Australian standards, fostering a positive and motivated learning environment.
For Our Senior Students, Tests Are Just Another Adventure!
Fashion Forward
Our students are diving into their major project for Fashion Design and Technology, crafting stunning dresses of their own design! This semester kicked off with an exploration of various embellishment techniques and innovative sleeve constructions, ensuring that every project includes fabulous sleeves and eye-catching decoration.

M&M and Physics
Year 11 Physics: Radioactive Decay with M&Ms!
In this electrifying physics lesson, we brought the concept of radioactive decay to life using M&Ms! Each student took a turn reaching into a bag filled with a mix of red (radioactive) and green (radiogenic) M&Ms. If they pulled out a red one, it was considered decayed and replaced with a green candy, while green M&Ms went back into the bag.
As the bag circulated, the number of red M&Ms dwindled, making it increasingly difficult to pick one—perfectly simulating radioactive decay! We then graphed our findings, showing how the number of decaying isotopes decreases over time, resulting in an exciting exponentially decaying graph. This hands-on experiment made understanding decay not just easy, but a whole lot of fun!

STREET SMART HIGH 2024
Earning Driving License is one of the most prestigious responsibilities a teenager or young adult in their lifetime. Our Year 11 and 12 students were able to attend this huge event, hosted by the RAA and SAPOL - in bringing together a simulated car crash scenario from young adults driving, to speeches from crash victims and families of loved ones lost in road accidents over the years. This was a massive eye-opener for our students, in seeing firsthand the impact of driving under the influence, distracted by phones and friends, and other factors.

Collaborative Learning
The Year 11 EAL class is a dynamic, enthusiastic group that's all about literacy and lifting each other up! They’re not only committed to their own growth but also to supporting their classmates through constant collaboration. As they dive into their final interactive study, they’ve already wowed us with a high-energy brainstorming session where they chose topics they’re genuinely passionate about discussing with the class.
This brainstorm set the stage for an exciting gallery walk, where their peers contributed guiding questions, showing real curiosity about each topic. This input has given our EAL students the perfect foundation to plan engaging presentations that will captivate and educate their audience. It's a thrilling moment for the EAL class as they prepare to bring their ideas to life, inspire their peers, and shine in their interactive study!
